She was a queen long before she married a king.
She grew up in Alabama, made her home in Atlanta.
She had beauty and grace, she was more than a pretty face.
She was loved by all, came to your aid when you made the call.
Coretta Scott King, you will be missed,
We write our letters of goodbye, sealed with a kiss.
Coretta Scott King, you are now at peace,
Hopefully, soon the wars will cease.
A great wife, friend and mother,
There will never be another.
May we all fight against violence and hate,
Let’s start now, it is not too late.
